Born again in 1987 he fellowships at Richlands in Richmond, and stresses that Dare to Dream is Christian based, and have volunteers from a wide Varity of Churches in and around the Durban area. Dave invites all to get involved because it is about reaching the children who need it the most. He asks that anyone that works with HIV/AIDS and Cancer Children to please contact him.
His love for Children has always been there and his favorite time with the children was on children’s camps. There you really got to know the children he says and you able to impart values into their lives. The idea for Dare to Dream came when watching Oprah, one evening about 8 years ago. Oprah interviewed Paul Newman and at the end they showed his passion and it was the camps he had started around 10 years ago. HITWGC that simply means the Hole in the Wall Gang Camps; they work with children that have life threatening illnesses. See link from this web page.
In 2002, with numerous sponsors, he was to be able to go to America as a volunteer for ten days. At HITWGC and learned a lot, He met people from all over the world and their input into his life was unmeasurable. On returning planning started in earnest and their first camp was held in January 2005 using Roseland's Outdoor Adventure Center.
Dave's prayer at present is to be full time with Dare to Dream, your help and prayers are welcomed.
